Water slides
Here is a short guide that walks you through water slides including what you need to know before buying a water slide.
Water slides were popular for a long time. They were the main attractions in water parks and giant amusement parks. Any medium to large sized amusement park is bound to be a flop if it lacks a water slide.
But water slides became affordable for a common household during the recent times. Previously the water slides were limited to water theme parks as it was very costly to get a water slide. The advent of modern technology in manufacturing of water slides meant that water slides can be now made cheap, making it affordable even for a normal household. And the popularity of online shopping and more competetion meant that there are few houses with swimming pools that do not have a water slide or pool slide.
Water slides are mainly of two types. Water slides made from inflatable materials and water slides made from a smooth fiberglass material.
Whether it is an inflatable water slide of fiber glass water slide, the principle of water slides are the same. A water slide will have water pumped to the top which is then allowed to flow down. A person can climb to the top of the slide and slide down to the bottom. The constant stream of water reduces the friction and makes it easier to slide down. Some water slides may simply be wet. The more the water that flows down, the more fun it is to slide down as wet surface makes it easy for a person to slide down. The bottom end of water slides normally opens into a water body. The water body could be a pool or even some standing water.
Combining many different fiberglass pieces can make a giant waterslide, the kind of waterslides that you see in amusement parks etc.
Water slides are also known as water chutes, hydroslides or flumes.
